FAQ's and Important Info

So you may be wondering, what are my "final" images, how many, is the time continuous, among other things.

Here's some answers your soul might be searching for.

How long have you been in the business?

I have been doing photography for over 25 years. Weddings, families, babies, seniors, you name it! I am professionally trained in studio lighting, OCF and natural light. I photograph somewhere around 40+ weddings a year all over the state of Michigan. I work closely and often with  Victoria Wedding Chapel in Waterford as I am their house photographer.

What are "high resolution" images?

These are your full size non-watermarked jpeg images. The same files I would be printing from. The techie size is a minimum 8x10 at 300 dpi.

Can we go anywhere for our photos?

That all depends. Though many of areas are for public use, a lot are not. I am respectful everywhere I shoot, and will respect each spaces requirements. That said, if your choice area requires a permit, you are responsible for acquiring and paying any fees associated with the permit requirements. Proof of needed permits will be required before your session or event takes place. Locations in need of permits that I am often at at include Belle Isle, Edsel and Elenor Ford House, The War Memorial among others. Please be aware that this means you will need to select your location early and reserve the permit early as well (at least 2 weeks prior).

Do you offer 2 photographer packages?

I shoot everything solo, there may be an option to add a second photographer that I have worked with, if the stars align and you absolutely must have one. However, I have rarely if ever seen the the need for one. Planning and consulting with me goes a long way.

What are my "final" images? Are they all the photos you take?

No. Though I may shoot without hesitation, you will receive the images that meet my criteria, look amazingly awesome and tell the story of your day. Usually for weddings this is between 300-800 images, all depending on your coverage and day. Smaller jobs will have less images, larger ones may have more. I try to approach every photo with the person that is the subject in them in mind. Also, once I edit down the images, I crop, color correct and filter them to perfection. The images you select for your album or prints are fully retouched before printing.

I love black and white, do you do that?

Well guess what, I love it too! I usually pick and choose images based on the feeling they convey to be black and white, so yes you will have quite a few. Good news is you can also make any color photos black and white too.

When will we get our photos? How do we get them?

About 4-6 weeks after your wedding or session I will have your gallery online. You can download these images directly from your gallery. I do a Facebook post of my favorites as well before your gallery is sent. If you have an album or any prints to order you have 6 months to let me know your selections. The album process takes about 6 weeks from start to finish.

Is the time continuous?

Yes, all time is continuous, I usually do not offer to split time.

What are travel fees?

Usually the first 10 miles between your locations is no big deal, anything more than that or if your destinations are far apart travel fees will set in. We can discuss additional fees if it looks like there is a lot of travel involved. If you are having a destination wedding, then there will be a set travel fee.

Do I need to give you a list of all the photos I want taken?

This is not necessary; I will ask you many questions about your friends and family in attendance, so I will know who will be there and how to arrange the group shots. You are hiring a professional and don't need to stress out more with a list. However, if there is anything out of the ordinary, then yes, please let me know!

Ok, I'm sold, how do we book you?

I require 1/2 down by cash, check or charge with a signed contract. The remainder of your balance is due 30 days before your event. Oh, and THANK YOU!
